Allied Outdoor Solutions is Hiring a Sr. Product Manager Near Houston, TX

Company Overview: Allied Outdoor Solutions is the leading Texas builder of outdoor living projects, specializing in designing and building custom decks, patios, and outdoor kitchens. With a strong commitment to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, Allied Outdoor Solutions has established a solid reputation in the industry and has completed over 20,000 projects.

We got to $50MM on the back of great sales and customer service, but we recognize we need great technology and processes to get to $100MM and beyond. That’s where this role comes in.

Position Overview:As Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for steering the engineering team’s efforts to ensure we build the right things and deliver maximum value to the business and our customers. This is a very strategic role that will report directly to the CEO, owning the product roadmap and prioritization in alignment with leadership objectives, and have significant impact across the organization; however, it is also a very hands-on role as you work closely with departmental product owners and engineers on the minutiae of tickets and initiatives. Additionally, you will serve as a project manager for strategic initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.

If you love to live at the intersection of technology and business, and are someone who is organized and a natural ‘leader by influence’ (as opposed to by authority), you will have an outsized impact in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, production, and engineering to understand business objectives, user needs, and technical requirements for software products.
  • Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on market research, customer feedback, and strategic goals.
  • Translate product requirements into user stories, specifications, and detailed tickets for the engineering team, ensuring clarity and alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Own the product roadmap and prioritization process, balancing competing priorities and resource constraints in collaboration with leadership.
  • Lead sprint planning meetings, backlog grooming sessions, and daily stand-ups to ensure effective communication and alignment across teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries, clarifications, and decisions, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, proactively identifying and addressing risks, dependencies, and roadblocks to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly product experiences that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Conduct regular product reviews and retrospectives to gather feedback, track performance metrics, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Act as a champion for the product vision and strategy, advocating for customer-centric solutions and driving innovation to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in product management roles, with a track record of successfully launching and managing software products from conception to launch.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product plans and specifications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to drive consensus and alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced product leader to make a significant impact on our product development efforts and drive growth for our business. If you're passionate about building innovative software products, leading high-performing teams, and mentoring the next generation of product leaders, we'd love to hear from you.
